[Animal Jam] WildWorks Complaint?

I want to announce - before I get into the main subject- that I will no longer be doing the Necklace to Spike Challenge for 2018. I simply don't have the time. Sorry.

I will say, I'm very, very shocked this happened. I can understand - AJHQ doesn't want hacking information to get out. So what happened, exactly?

Apparently, WildWorks made a DMCA copyright or something complaint about a thread on the Animal Jam Wiki - which I can't link since it has since been removed - that contained hacking information about the unreleased Jamaaliday Gift items on the Daily Gift Calendar back in 2017 and proof that they are not on there.

As said above, I can understand why they filed the complaint (because sharing hacking info is against the rules of Animal Jam), but I think copyright is a little too far. I don't understand all of this as much as most do, but I don't think just giving out data is copyright. No one was claiming it as their own. No one was revealing anything that could potentially harm the game - all they were doing is telling the others what they found, not exactly how anyone else could do it on their own.

The person who made the original post (known as Kitsoon A on the wiki) left his/her opinions in another thread here.

"No matter how you put it it's not infringing their copyright, it may be against the rules as 'threatening their intellectual property by sharing hacking information' but it's not against their copyright...They went too far, they should've just admitted they weren't on the Calendar and stop being cowardly." - Kitsoon A, Animal Jam Wiki

Exactly. I also believe that another reason why Animal Jam may have filed such a complaint wasn't only because it was info about hacking, but also because they don't want players to know that they aren't on the calendar (Kitsoon also said this on the new thread), which is sad because on Instagram, they left a reply to someone's comment saying that the black candy cane socks, the raspberry gingerbread hat, and maybe even the red icicle horn are "very rare, but you can get them".

Another person named Cheesypotatoes :) (as on the wiki) stated in a reply to the thread announcing the complaint (here):

"While I agree that it wasn't the best idea to publicly reveal the sensitive information disclosed in the thread, I hope that WildWorks uses that information to take action in order to prevent this sort of things from happening in the future. The issues with the calendar have been going on ever since it came out in 2011..." - Cheesypotatoes :), Animal Jam Wiki

Per what Cheesypotatoes said, it wasn't the best idea to reveal the info, but maybe AJHQ didn't have to be so...salty? I also don't remember anything from the original thread (or at least not that much) except for the fact that a friend of Kitsoon did some hacking, but I don't think they were explicitly revealing any info, only what they discovered and concluded.

It also seems that AJHQ is doing this "unreleased" stuff on purpose. Making an extra variant and never releasing it. Are they using it to trick us or were they going to use it as a rare prize?

All of this is confusing, but I really don't think that the thread was copyright. So unclear, so undefined.

[Soler] Happy 27th Birthday to Alvaro Soler!

It looks like we have a birthday today. And that person is very special and amazing. He is a great (nope, the best) singer, he is a warm-hearted person, he's what most (including me) would call sexy, he loves tiramisu, and his music saves lives. Who is this person I'm speaking of?

Of course I'm talking about Alvaro Soler. Who else? 😛

~ Mira, Sofia ~

Alvaro Soler is without a doubt the most amazing person out there. I'm sure it's completely impossible for one to truly explain how much they appreciate him. So many feelings, not enough words, not the right words.

Honestly - what is there to dislike about Alvi? His voice is amazing and can never be forgotten (and it doesn't matter whether he's singing or talking!), his smile is so warm, that loving gaze in his eyes every time he looks at someone or something no matter what it is, and he can be so childish and adorable but also so damn handsome and sexy at the same time - and there's so much more about him that nobody can hate.

I mean, seriously - take a look at all these pictures! How can you not fall in love with him?!

And, today, Alvaro turns 27 years old! Below let me just rant about how much I love him 😘I'm also going to be writing as if I'm talking to him even though he'll probably never see this.

~ Bajo el mismo sol ~

Like said above, there is no sure way to explain how much I love you and how much you've affected my life and my perspectives, Alvaro. Before you decided to appear in my life, there was a missing part of me that I couldn't understand. It's like that one piece of the puzzle that's going to join two larger, already completed parts together but you just can't find. You were that piece I stumbled upon one day a few years ago, forgotten about, and realized the true value of later.

Here's the story:

During the summer of 2016, I used to have extreme suicidal thoughts. I didn't tell anyone because I didn't see any positive outcome from it. I kept silent because I felt so alone and so lost. I didn't understand myself. I don't know if I was depressed; maybe I was, or I just felt like my life had no purpose.

The only things I could do were to go onto the computer and pound out endless little fanfiction stories of my favorite franchises or people. Most of them had to do with one person hurting another person. Then the victim commits suicide or dies in some accidental way and the main character realizes what he/she did wrong. I always listened to sad songs on Spotify while I was writing those. I had chosen a random playlist which had only a few more upbeat and joyful songs in it. Most of them were songs I didn't know. After a while, the B-Case remix of Under the Same Sun came on.

I liked how the beginning sounded, so I let it continue playing. When I heard the words "bajo el mismo sol", I thought, Damn, if this is a Spanish-language song, I'm not going to become "addicted". Looks like I didn't exactly keep that "promise" to myself after all...

After a while I heard the chorus: "Los celebration / No matter where you came from / We're all under the same sun / Y bajo el mismo sol..." and I realized that I wasn't alone. I wasn't alone at all. I thought, This dude and whoever the other girl is, they're both right. We are all under the same sun. We're all in the same world. Nobody's alone. There's always someone right next door who's also under the same sun.

I found out about Sofia later. I listened to both these songs over and over for a week or so until I was dragged onto a long family road trip in which I wasn't allowed to use my phone at all. When I got back, I had already forgotten about you, which I can't believe happened.

Only a few months back in October, I heard Sofia playing in one of my classrooms, and I was like: hey, I remember this guy! And that's how I rediscovered you, Alvaro. To this day the remix of Under the Same Sun is my favorite song of yours (though I'm not exactly sure if it counts since it's a remix) because it saved my life. It stopped me from killing myself that year.

When I discovered more about you, I realized you're an amazing yet peculiar person. You can speak so many languages (6? or 7?), the more mature side of you shows most of the time but deep down inside you have the soul of a child, your amazing voice is unexplainable (or undefined!), and so much more. There's so much about you that I love and absolutely nothing that I dislike (except maybe the art I draw of you sometimes but that's on me, not you, haha).

I love you so much, Alvaro Soler, and I'll say one last thing - I don't understand how such a wonderful person like you could exist, and because of that, I'm going to label you as undefined. Welcome to undefinity, Alvaro! Again, happy birthday, or feliz cumpleaños, and I really hope this day was awesome for you, because it's your day!

~ Como un animal, animal ~

My top 10 favorite songs from Alvaro:
  • Esperándote (10)
  • Lucía (9)
  • Agosto (8) and wow Agosto is number 8! get it? lol nvm
  • Libre (7)
  • Tengo Un Sentimiento (6)
  • Volar (5)
  • El Mismo Sol (4)
  • Animal (3)
  • Sofia (2)
  • Under the Same Sun - B-Case Remix (1)
But all of his music is amazing because his voice is amazing and he is an amazing - and undefined - person. And if you don't know who Alvaro Soler is or haven't listened to his music...then why haven't you?! Find Sofia or one of his songs and blast it on repeat until you're "addicted" to his voice!!

Happy New Year - January 2018 announcements

Well, what do you know! It's 2018, and that means some new things.

First off, today is January 1st - that means I can start working on the January 2018 story I promised I'd do. It is Little House on the Prairie fanfiction, and here's the summary (which is changed from what I said a few days earlier):

Perhaps a single spare tablet might trigger the biggest of all questions: simply, why? Laura begins to realize that many things are hidden from her. If she can't write down all her feelings, how could anyone say all of theirs?

~ undefined ~

It also means that I'm beginning the Necklace to Spike Challenge for January. I won't get around to doing it today, sadly, but I may be able to tomorrow. The change in the rules are:

None. For January of 2018, there will be no change in the rules. Do the challenge as is.

~ undefined ~

And so you have it - two challenges for the month of January in my face. I also have a bunch of huge goals for 2018, not just these two. I'll try and get around to talking about them.

Here's a list of people who brought out the good in 2017 for me:
  • AJHQ - they follow their dreams for the game (Animal Jam).
  • Alvaro Soler - he's my inspiration for not giving up and being kind.
  • Aparri - it amazes me how he can handle so much hate from the community.
  • Bepper - she loves staying positive.
  • Julian2 - he makes me laugh with his funny videos.
  • Laura Ingalls Wilder - Little House on the Prairie calms me when I'm not feeling the best.
  • Lucyfluffy(dendecor) - she reminds me that there is still creativity in humanity.
  • Nutelli - she reminds me that everyone deserves a chance, because they could be amazing.
  • Snowyclaw - she's my inspiration for standing back up when life shoves me down.
  • Transformice -  this game reminds me that if a mouse can reach the cheese, I can reach a goal.
  • All the music out there - even if I don't like some of it, it lifts the mood no matter what.
