[Animal Jam] - Necklace to Spike Challenge (2018)

I'll tell you something: technically speaking, I've already completed the Necklace to Spike Challenge twice. I hadn't been going to earn a second rare wrist, but it happened.

I was planning to do this challenge (monthly, again) for 2018, but with the strict rules I've set up for myself and the other stuff that's going to be in the way, I might not be able to do so. It seems fun, though, and I will try and squeeze in the time for it.

But if you want to do it, I'll give you the rules!

~ undefined ~

Steps:
  1. Create a new account. This is critical to the challenge. You must use a new account only for this challenge. Using your main account, a storage, or backup account leads to bias and you may forget which items you are allowed to use for the challenge.
  2. Buy a necklace from the store. Remember, you can buy as many necklaces as you want, but you are not allowed to change the color of it. Keep it at the default magenta color it is.
  3. Start trading. It may be difficult, but remember - there will be someone who wants a necklace or will accept a trade for it.
Easy, right? However, there are many things you can and can’t do.
You MAY:
  • Buy as many necklaces as you want
  • Play adventures (this does not include seasonal ones)
  • Complete the Journey Book
  • Play games (including The Claw and Phantom Invasion)

You CANNOT:
  • Ask others for items
  • Use an account that already has items on it
  • Collaborate with someone to complete the challenge
  • Use other websites to communicate trading/tips
  • Hint or tell anyone you are doing this challenge
  • Scam/Hack
  • Enter or host giveaways
  • Buy membership on the account being used
  • Buy other items besides necklaces
  • Play seasonal adventures (Twists and Turns, Jamaaliday Rescue, etc.)

One of the most important steps is the track your progress. How do you do this?
  1. Get out a new document. Make sure it’s blank.
  2. Type down the date. For example, if I made a trade on July 1st, 2017, then I would type 7/1/2017.
  3. Type down the trade or action done. Let’s say I traded my necklace for a deer plushie. Then I would type “Necklace → Deer Plushie”.

Remember this:
  • If you were the one who made the trade, then simply do “Item → Item”.
  • If someone traded you, then you should do “Got Item → Item”. This is important because otherwise, there is no way to tell the difference between someone who traded you or you trading someone else.
  • If you obtained an item from an adventure/game, do “Obtained Item from Adventure/Game”. Be sure to mark whether or not the adventure was in Hard Mode.
  • If there’s some other way you obtained an item that was not listed here, let me know. I’ll add it if it’s allowed.
  • You do not have to record the username of the person you traded or got traded by.

Now you know what the challenge itself is, here are the rule changes if you decide to do the challenge for each month that either makes the challenge harder or easier:

Any rule stated in a month does not apply for any other month.

January - None. For January of 2018, there will be no change in the rules. Do the challenge as it is.

February - Only you can trade. For February of 2018, the only change will be that you are not allowed to accept trades from other people. You must trade someone else. If someone trades you, it does not matter what the trade is - you must decline it!

March - You cannot collect den items. For March of 2018, the only change will be that you are not allowed to use den items for trading. This means no accepting trades with den items, no trading away den items (though I'm not sure why you'd have those anyway?), and no trading for den items.

April - You can play seasonal adventures, but you cannot play regular adventures. For April of 2018, the changes will be that you are allowed to play seasonal adventures, but you may not play regular (year-round) adventures. For example, you can play the spring egg thing, but you can't play Return of the Phantoms, The Phantom Portal, Meet Cosmo, Bubble Trouble, etc.

May - You cannot play games that reward items. For May of 2018, the only change will be that you are not allowed to play games that reward items. This means you can't play The Claw and earn plushies, or play Phantom Invasion and earn animal toys. This includes the den item games.

June - You are not allowed to wear items. For June of 2018, the only change will be that you are not allowed to wear items. This will be difficult for trading because many Jammers will think "Hmm, that person isn't wearing any rare items. They're probably not rare, so I'm not going to trade them."

July - You can communicate trading/tips on other websites, but you are not allowed to just trade in-game. For July of 2018, the changes will be that you are allowed to use Wikia/Instagram/Google+/etc. for discussing trading, but you may not just go up and trade someone/accept a trade in the game. You actually have to talk to someone using another source, agree on a trade, and then make the actual trade in Animal Jam.

August - You can communicate trading/tips on other websites, but you must use Bubble Chat in-game. For August of 2018, the changes will be that you are allowed to use Wikia/Instagram/Google+/etc. for discussing trading, but inside of Animal Jam, you must use Bubble Chat. You can still trade without finding someone on another website, but you have to use Bubble Chat no matter what. If you find remembering to use Bubble Chat difficult, then go to your Parent Dashboard and set the account to Bubble Chat.

September - You are not allowed to use anything that could tell you the rarity/value of an item. For September of 2018, the only change will be that you are not allowed to use sources that say anything about the rarity/value of any item. For example, you can't use Animal Jam Item Worth Wiki or any forum. You can ask around in the game, but you can't use outside sources.

October - You are not allowed to complete the Journey Book. For October of 2018, the only change will be that you are not allowed to complete the Journey Book. You may know that finding all the items/animals in a certain area of Jamaa will reward you with a certain item. You are not allowed to do this for October.

November - The only adventure you are allowed to do is Bubble Trouble. For November of 2018, the only change will be that the only adventure you can do is Bubble Trouble in either regular or hard mode. The mode (hard/regular) does not matter. You are not allowed to do any other adventures (this includes seasonal adventures).

December - Repeat any one month's challenge (January is NOT allowed). For December of 2018, the change will be that you must choose any month (with the exception of January) and apply the same rule again. For example, let's say I wanted to do May's challenge again - then I'll do it. I could also do October, June, April, or any other month that is not January.

~ undefined ~

Can I use the items that Peck gives me in my den? Yes, you may, but please also add it to your document. Avoid the part where she wants you to buy something from Jam Mart Furniture, however. The only month where you are not allowed to do this is March - where you aren't allowed to use den items in trading.

For December, can I use the Daily Jamaaliday Gifts? Yes, you may.

~ undefined ~

If there are any more questions, let me know, and I'll answer them. Until 2018? or maybe a few days later? Until the next post, then. Stay undefined 😀

Merry Christmas - Things for 2018

It's Christmas today, and it's been great for me. Cookies, presents, music, all sorts of fun. I got some pretty neat stuff - what did you guys get?

Speaking of Christmas, I'm thinking about all the Little House on the Prairie episodes that were Christmas-themed. I'm also wondering about the Jamaalidays on Animal Jam and Christmas in Transformice. I'm wondering how Alvaro Soler's Christmas went - was it good? As a "solerina", I hope so!

~ Silent night ~ Holy night ~ All is calm ~ All is bright ~

Here's the flat-out truth: I'm planning too many things for 2018. Too much writing I'll probably never finish. Too many challenges I might never get around to doing.

Now, speaking of challenges, I'm planning on doing one - about writing. Maybe fanfiction-related stuff and maybe original content. Each month (starting January 2018) I write a (5000+ words) one-shot, or short story, of a different genre/theme (changing each month). It's up to me whether I want to link the events or not to each other.

If I decide to do that, I'm probably going to do Little House on the Prairie (TV series) fanfiction. It seems the easiest. Little House has always been easy for me to write about. It will be posted on FanFiction.net under the username 2023zhanl38.

Here's "how" I'm thinking about doing it:

January - "Diary". Since Charles is left-handed (or Michael Landon, I should say :P) he probably struggles with trying to fit in. I haven't observed any other left-handed character in the show, and nobody makes any sort of remark about his left-handedness, so maybe he "suffers" in silence. Basically, one day, Charles realizes what it means to be left-handed and starts writing down all the small problems he experiences because of it. Taken from first person POV.

February - Romance. I don't know romance that well. It's just going to be a small fic about either Charles and Caroline or Laura and Almanzo. I'm still deciding on which one of those two I should do, but I'm leaning towards Laura & Almanzo at the moment. Taken from third person POV.

March - Fantasy. It's going to involve a lot of random things that will never be possible. Unicorns and flying humans and (pfft) you get the point. Taken from third person POV.

April - Humor. Hey, hey, it's April Fool's Day - so why not add a little funny stuff? This one is mainly going to be exploring how the characters find the funniest and maybe the most inappropriate parts of many things in life. Taken from third person POV.

May - Drama. Some drama "springs" up in Walnut Grove and Laura has to fight through it. Her parents aren't supposed to know a thing - because she and the other kids have encountered something strange, for which they have been warned to not discuss with people not mentioned For this one, I'm going with a theme that causes unusual conflict between day and night. Taken from third person POV.

June - Science Fiction. Since Little House takes place in the mid-late 19th century, their sort of "science fiction" could take place in the 21st century, or even later than that. It may as well even take place in the 20th. So, for this, I'm pondering over whether to put the characters in a position that happened to us recently, or make them people from...2023? 2105? Somewhere around that Forget the year - and they managed to time travel back to where the show actually takes place. Taken from third person POV.

July - Random. For this month, I'm going to write anything at all. Any genre, any theme, anything. July is the month where writer's block is most in the way for me, so I'm setting this one to random. I'm thinking about a little tragedy (some Ingalls family member gets depressed, writes in a journal, and commits suicide - the last entry is by another member of the family or of another character). Unsure about POV; leaning towards first person.

August - Mystery. Laura has disappeared. They have to find her. It's not as simple as it seems. Taken from third person POV.

September - Realistic Fiction. For this one, I have to write something that would make sense in their time. Still wondering what I'm going to write for this, though. Unsure about POV.

October - Horror. Hey, hey, it's Halloween - so why not give you the creeps? I already have written a Little House horror story called Horror on the Left Side - you can find it on my profile page on FanFiction.net. For 2018, I'm planning on doing something related to either 1. an early blizzard or 2. Halloween or 3. the mystery from August. Taken from third person POV.

November - Adventure/WHN. I'm not sure about this one because I know adventure usually has lots of chapters, and for these, I don't want them to be too long. That's why I'm leaving WHN (What Happens Next) as another option; I'll write about what happens after an episode. I'll eventually think of something. Unsure about POV; leaning towards third person.

December - Historical Fiction. For this one, since it's going to be December (a whole year? whaaaat) I might decide to write about what would happen if the characters of Little House were there at the time of Jesus' birth, or I could write about something that took place before the show originally takes place. Unsure about POV; leaning towards third person.

~ Baby, it's cold outside ~

So there you have it - what I'm planning to do for 2018. I have another challenge in mind, it's another month to month thing, but I don't know if I want to do it. I can set up the rules for you if you want to do it, but I'm probably not going to.

Until then!

What is 'Undefinity'?

You've probably been wondering the same thing for a while.

What I like to think of it, though, is everything. The definition of "undefined" is not clear or defined. We're not exactly sure what created us in the first place, so everything must be undefined. And if everything is undefined, then everything is undefinity.

I'm a piece of undefinity. There's no explanation as to why I am who I am.

-

I'm an INFP (-T) and I play Animal Jam, Transformice, Restaurant Story, and other stuff. I love the TV show Little House on the Prairie, even though I don't watch it anymore, and I'm a fan of Alvaro Soler.

I don't know a thing about League of Legends, Pokemon, Game of Thrones...none of that. I don't know a thing about Jennifer Lopez or Selena Gomez or Beyonce or any of those people.

My name's Lillian (or 2023zhanl38) and I am true undefinity. I love winter and I hate summer. I love December and hate July (not June? lol). I look like an extrovert but am actually an introvert. I like dogs but not cats. I like potatoes but not sweet potatoes.

-

And more. Maybe I'm more than undefinity, but that's how I label myself and everything around us.
